Bath’s Culinary Favourites Celebrated at Bath Good Food Awards

The stars of Bath’s foodie scene were out in force on Sunday 24th September for the annual Bath Good Food Awards. Representatives from the city’s food producers and eateries filled the newly opened Apex City of Bath Hotel to celebrate Bath’s food and drink credentials, with more than 40 awards up for grabs.

Sunday afternoon saw the city’s local producers gathered to award the best of the best, with lunch served up by The Mint Room.

In the evening, it was the turn of Bath’s restaurants, cafés, pubs and delis. Before the ceremony began, guests were treated to an indulgent three-course meal. Salmon starters were designed and prepared by Chris Cleghorn, Head Chef of The Olive Tree; “Duck, Duck, Goose” main courses were produced by Apex’s very own Ben Abercrombie; and the inventive “Oats and Goats” desserts were prepared by Rupert Taylor and Andrew Foulkes, of the Abbey Hotel.

Shortlisted nominees were voted for by the public of Bath and winners chosen by a panel of leading figures in the food and drink world, including wine expert and presenter Angela Mount and MasterChef 2014 winner Ping Coombes.

Congratulations to all of the nominees and winners of these prestigious awards, along with a big thank you to the organisers, and Apex City of Bath Hotel, for a fantastic night!
